When you consider that we spend more than a third of our lives sleeping, one would think that we would put more effort into finding the best mattress for our needs. But we tend to let price and aesthetic factors blur the decision making process, if not actually letting them make the entire decision for us in the first place.
The quality and firmness of the mattress and the materials it is made of, is directionally proportionate to how we feel and function the next day, as the mattress is solely responsible for our quality of sleep at night.
Another factor that makes us buy mattresses is how the top layer feels under our hands, comfortable, soft and luxurious. However, more often than not, that top layer of padding is nothing more than a cotton-polyester blend perched precariously on top of polyurethane foam. And although it feels great, it is possibly the worst choice, as the material doesn’t breathe well, which means it traps everything like dust, and because it lies so close to your body, it becomes overly warm much quicker and encourages night sweating.
What we may not realize is that more often than not, it is the covering that is on all our mattresses, as it is cost effective, keeps the retail price down and feels comfortable to the touch, hence the high sales turnover. What should be covering our mattresses is actually wool, as it is a textile that breathes and dispels moisture, keeping you comfortable and cool all night long.
Another misconception is that a mattress needs to be downy, soft and spongy, we obviously watch too many movies, in reality that kind of mattress, the one the heroine in the movie falls back into and just about disappears as the violins serenade the approaching hero, doesn’t provide an iota of support for our necks, our backs and most importantly our spines.
A hard mattress is also not good, there is a reason we are sleeping on a mattress and not on the floor, if the floor is feeling more comfortable you are sleeping on the wrong mattress, you don’t want to wake up feeling like you have been run over by a bus, you need to feel refreshed and rejuvenated.
A Double Memory Foam Mattress is the perfect combination between the soft, lumpy and the hard as rock mattress. It is made from an evolutionary three layer high density support layer of special memory foam, that makes up the core of the mattress, in some cases, the Double Memory Foam Mattress also comes in a five layer option for extra pressure relieving support.
The beauty of this mattress is that the high tech foam cradles your body as you lie down, without letting your body sink into the mattress, and offers hi-tech pressure relief properties that actually relieve you of pain and sore, tender joints, whilst you sleep.
The Double Foam Memory mattress uses your own body temperature to mould to the curves of your body, and offers the most comprehensive support for your entire body whilst you sleep
