Located on the Tendring peninsula, Clacton-on-Sea is one of the largest towns in the area. It dates back to the late 19th century and was a popular tourist resort which attracted thousands of people during the summer months, particularly in the post-war years, but has lost popularity as a holiday destination in recent years thanks to the popularity of package holidays abroad. The town now attracts many older residents who have chosen to retire there.
There are still some traditional sea-side attractions in the town. If you want to spend time walking along the sea-front, enjoying a lunch of fish and chips followed by an ice-cream, then you can at your leisure. Children will love the amusement arcades and spending time on the beach. There is around 7 miles of sandy beach in total and this stretches from Frinton to Jaywick, so finding a quiet spot to build sandcastles should be easy. Clacton Pier is a must for those who love the seaside and there are plenty of things to do there including fairground rides and even a flight simulator.
There is a small aquarium in Clacton where children can enjoy seeing sea creatures at close quarters. Keeping the children entertained while on holiday in this area is easy as there are plenty of things to see and do. The Indoor Karting is a popular option and ideal for those kids who love to be on the move all the time. For outdoor options head to the Holland Haven Country Park where visitors can spend time bird watching or just exploring the 100 acres.
For a trip outside the town there is Brightlingsea which is close by and is a maritime town. There are plenty of historical attractions here and every member of the family will love it. Over towards Colchester there is the Layer Marney Tower. This dates from the Tudor era and is great for those who are interested in the area of the region. The Colne Valley Railway is another option for those who want to take a family day out in the region. Trips are available on steam and diesel trains and it is a great way to experience train travel as it used to be.
With so much to see and do, getting back home for a good night’s sleep is so much easier if you have a Hypnia memory foam mattress. Imagine being able to simply relax and just drift off into proper restful sleep. If you have a stressful job than this might seem like a pipe dream but it is possible if you choose a memory foam topper or mattress. The material has been scientifically developed and will mould to your body by reacting to the change in temperature. This ensures that the body is evenly supported and this will help to eliminate some of the aches and pains that people often suffer with when they have a poor night’s sleep. Do not spend time wondering about a memory foam mattress, just give one a try.
